The sheer amount of stupidity that can go on in battles due to the ####ty AI is enough to permanently lower someone's IQ.

They're called AI commands. Use them.

With proper use of the different AI scripts you can get characters to use pretty much any move you want on demand. The only character who continues to act stupid in these situations is Mitsuru, since for some reason "Spam Marin Karin/Tentarafoo" was assigned to all her scripts.

Yukari heals the person with the lowest HP number. Even if Akihiko is missing half his health and she's only missing 1 point, if her actual total is lower she'll target herself since she has "the lowest hp".

IIRC there's another command that will make her target Akihiko instead in that instance. I think she'll target lowest % on General, but I haven't played the game in a while so don't take my word for it 100%.

omglol, you completely suck at P3.

The battle system is genius. You can't see that not being able to control your team mates actually makes it more interesting. Why should you be able to control other people anyway? Esspecially when you can change mid-battle to 12 different persona. It's more of a shame they caved in to peoples ignorance and modified a really original battle system for P4. Notice I'm calling them team mates not characters.
