We need an ATLUS of Europe branch
This has been mentioned again and again and I have to once more bring up the issue. It is downright disappointing and frustrating that there is no ATLUS of Europe. Most platforms out there are region-free, but it is still a hassle to import seeing how not every US store handles international shipping and the ones that do may not have any ATLUS titles.
What I am trying to say is that it would be awesome to have stores in Europe with PAL games that have been localised by ATLUS. Shiren the Wonderer and Trauma Team are both coming out this year, but the Nintendo Wii is a region-locked console and so importing is not even a possibility. I am also making a poll because I want to know what you guys – the faithful – think about this issue. Please vote and let us show ATLUS that a European branch is something that we are all looking forward to. Thanks!

Atlus Europe would be nice, but not really needed for me. I buy my games from overseas anyway because it's so much cheaper.
If I had a console that's not region free, I'd get a modchip/drive flash anyway because we europeans miss out on so much stuff anyway or get things half a year or even more later. Getting the console modded pays off after 3-4 games already so it's nothing really.

/\ it does if you don't know English well.
As much as I would want it, I doubt a European branch would make much money. It's not like the sort of games Atlus localise sell to well over here.

I'm indiffrent. Getting an Atlus branch in Europe doesnt mean much to me. It wont get you every Atlus title released in Japan, hell, it may not even get you half. As has been shown, we have our own branch in the states and we dont see them all. Plus the chances of you getting as good people as the N/A crew is rather slim as well. Good luck convincing Atlus Jp they need to spend the money on opening a branch in a region that would require them to hire that many more translators for a smaller target audience.

That's too bad for you Europeans.
Localizing Growlanser V was enough of a tease, so I agree with the other poster to not expect all of Atlus' games to be localized even if you get a local branch.

I voted in Favor. I live in Eurpoe and even if one can import the games, it's still a pain to do. being able to buy these games at greedy chain store megashops would be a convenient thing.
I'd also appreciate a European Server, so i could meet other Players without having to play from 3-6 A.M.

Sure I'm for it, why not, but what's the point, just order them from the US, It's not like Japanese, and with all the new systems being basically region free, there's no reason not to just buy US versions.
Also Euopeans can use most of the US store/Auction sites as well(no need to use sites such as playasia to import), so you basically only have to pay alittle bit more h&S, other then that, you can get it for retail price.
PS. If I'm not mistaking, online servers have nothing to do with ATLUS, It's upto the developer/the Company who's system it is on.

Atlus should just purchase Rising Star games or do a partnership with them.
Rising Star are like the niche releasers of stuff in England, they would be a perfect buy for Atlus.
I would personally prefer that to Atlus opening up a branch, the market here in England probably isn't as profitable as it is in America.

I like the idea of a more consistent partner. Atlus jumps around between companies in Europe, and hasn't been able to get certain titles out there. Last I heard they don't have the one of the Trauma Center games.

I agree to the ATLUS of Europe's idea. You guys need to improve the region thing. If it weren't for ATLUS, I'd not able to play Riviera, my favourite game in Original DS, so I agree to the idea of building an European ATLUS. Many games NEED to be published here at Europe.
Thanks to Microsoft, we can't be happy enough to play the games you Americans own. We want those consoles to be region-free. Same goes for Sony, that we want the PS3 to be Backward Compatibilitied to PS2 games' discs. We don't wanna DL the games, because we're afraid of losing them, and above of all, we want them to be in genuine CD's, like genuine collectors as we are.
Same goes for Nintendo. We don't have Club Nintendo...

No we don't. Why should everyone have to pay more for his PS3 only because a few people want to play PS2 games? If you want to play PS2 games go buy a PS2, it's less than 100€ and this way people who don't want to play PS2 games don't have to pay for hardware they don't even use.

I'm very happy with downloads, thank you. Saves me lots of money on shipping costs and the hassle of switching discs. How can you be afraid of losing a digital download you can allways redownload but not be afraid of damaging your disc?

I don't know, in Germany there's Club Nintendo. But what do you get from that?

I think he meant illegal downloads perhaps? You would still need to tinker with your machine if it's for something like ps2, but getting hold of the games would still be easier than importing them...
Anyway, I'd like for more Atlus games to be released in EU. That ps3/psp/DS are regionfree helps a lot, but it can still be a pain to import rare games. Not to speak of those rare cases with releases of Wii games....

Because it's a good feature and would cost us less than buying a PS2. The latest models had software emulation anyway, so you wouldn't be paying more for hardware.
This is about as silly an argument as arguing against including more controller ports because that way people who don't play local multiplayer won't have to pay for hardware they don't even use.

Because the companies that offer the downloads won't be around forever.

I myself and Many other friends would like to see Atlus get a EU branch, as We are all Looking forward to buying Trauma Team, I'm disappionted and wondering if Europe will have to wait an Extra year like we did for New blood.
I know many European gamers that would gladly buy games from Atlus, they just need a EU branch

If anything in this world can make me happy is the notion of Atlus Europe becoming a reality, and for more happiness, knowing that people will support Atlus by buying the bloody games!

I like the idea of a partnership with Rising Star Games! They brought games like No more heroes 1+2, Little Kings Story, Muramasa, Luminous Arc1+2 and Avalon Code to Europe!

It wouldn't be a bad idea at all, yet the company has got to see where the greatest purchasing power and interest lies, because if one does not consider things like these, they could also open up an Atlus-branch in the middle east.

Yes please we NEED a european atlus branch. Trauma Center is one of my favourite gaming franchises ever and I had to import UtK 2(which is still not released here) in order to play it. But unfortunately the wii isn't region free so I can't play Trauma Team which was my most anticipated game for 2010. Atlus has many awesome games and I'd love to see them come to europe. Please Atlus. I BEG YOU

I support the foundation of an Europe branch of ATLUS called ATLUS Europe. Lots of Atlus games, great games need to be spread worldwide and Europe is a great idealistic location for such a spread of Atlus Faithful. Europeans need Atlus games. Europeans want Atlus games!

The more people play Atlus games The Merrier. More hype for "x" games around the world and such.
This isn't me sucking up to Atlus and all, but why be selfish with a good thing?

I think it would make sense for Atlus to open a Europe branch but I can say that at least Europe localization is getting better and US's been getting worst with Atlus like one of few companies to show some love to US.

Opening an EU branch is easy, NISA for instance technically have no EU base but get around that by having an EU distributor, Tecmo-Koei, to handle that side. Which is why their Euro releases are no more than month apart from the US or even the same week, thats doing things right! Atlus on the other hand are so erratic, with loads of miscellaneous publishers, from big name publisher Square-Enix to the obscure Deep Silver. It's a needless mess and its no wonder that there's 6 - 12 month gaps between releases!
