I need some help from a dev or atlus

ok i have a serious issue in this game, im not saying its not my fault, hell i dont even know whats going on (i dont know of an english FROM Software site or how to go about contacting them)

here is my prob, my first play though on every char i make ed is fine there is no issue with him, however after NG every single time i try to use ed and use the "talk" function he says the "ores are sprites" line, he doesnt the say the line he says before he says that or anything he just goes right to that line and will not say anything else......so obviously i can never give him the red hot soul, so after NG i cannot upgrade any special item at all or use the colorless demons souls, so whatever i can upgrade with the few colorless souls i get on NG is all i have for the rest of the time i play the game (i have killed him and let him respawn on the next play though nothing is working)

idk whats up with this or what i did but i need a fix for this.....do i need to completely delete my save data and remake or what?

I also have a problem and I cant post new threads so Ill do it here. I have killed the tower knight but I cant proceed to 1-3. The fog is still there in front of the door and when I walk in it I get a popup that says, "A thick colorfess fog blocks you. You must have defeated an Archdemon to go on", or something to that effect. What am I missing here? thanks in advance

Ice Pick: try leaving his shop dialog then talking to him again... (i think you have done that already tho)

Bartuc: arch-demons are the end-boss of any world. World 1 is supposed to be the hardest of them all, so they want you to run around and kill 1 of the end boss of another world before attempting 1-3. (PS: Don't ninja someone else's thread... read the sticky topics -- it says you have to post 5 messages before you can make ur own thread)

I'm gonna add that to my FAQ thread as I've seen it a few times.

I haven't used Ed since I hit NG+ so I have no idea if he'll have the same issue or if other people have it.

You need to kill the boss in 3-4 then it will all be fine =)

I am WAY less experienced at this game, but it seemed that the conversation changed if I went into my inventory and selected that item that I wanted the blacksmith to talk about....don't do anything with it, .... or maybe put it in your quick access list???

Have you made sure it's in your inventory? Have you talked to him and exhausted the talk options before going back to him after defeating Flamelurker? Have you exited his window and tried talking to him several times over?

Have you already killed flamelurker this play through? He won't take his soul if you haven't killed him, so if you are trying to use one from your last play through it won't work.

no bugs for me either not including the horrible online related ones (super laggy, always fail to summon blue phantoms,getting backstabbed by somone in another room)

another ed problem? i just started ng++ so im really hoping hes going to be there this time and hope that he'll take the flamelurker soul. ed deffinetly seems like one of the biggest problems in this game

I understand, but if you've been reduced to only whining about the problems the game has, then you might as well just get another game.

think hes just venting. i dont know if you had any problems with your cycles but when something messes up in an already brutal game it sucks. its not like you can just run through a cycle in one day. i've already had my first 2 cycles messed up. first one was my fault second time there was no ed in my game. it sucks dude. i dont want to play another game i just want the one i have to work properly. after all when you buy a video game you expect that its going to work properly.

Yes, but is it truly that hard to play the game without a weapon that's really powerful? Although it's true that glitches like these should be checked, it's still no excuse to whine nonstop. Besides, if he's as good as people tell me he is, he should already have everything worth using that Ed could provide in the first place.

yeah i am venting in a way by talking about it.....but i HONESTLY want some help and be let know whats going on and how i can fix it....ive made 4 different characters and each have the same issue, and ive even taken them all the way and beat the dragon god and it still happens

if you view my posts as "whining" just dont read anything you see my name by, im giving real issues i have im not crying, im looking for SOLUTIONS thatss the whole point

1. to make known and maybe get a fix for

2. an issue like this which maybe i need to delete my save data...perhaps i had a bad auto save or turned of my PS3 during a certain point with him and wasnt paying attention

3. you can see other threads/posts on this site right here of people talking about the exact same things i talk about, so i know its not just me

4. yes i could play the rest of the game and never use ed...but why should i have to? what if i want the trophy for all rare weapons also? i dont think telling a problem i have and looking for solutions is a bad thing....i think its a good thing....especially when it effects others

"whining" and complaining are the only way things will get fixed. Anger to a message has more of an effect and is heard by many people (including you) who hate seeing messages that exploit a games faults and errors just because your having none.

Question is will they ever patch this game....i have little hope. First thing they need to patch is Ed and Saved files

Have you done ANYTHING that might have corrupted the game? I hit the PS button one night before I had quit my character and being lazy I just quit the game without quitting the character. That character's game data was corrupted and the game itself was corrupted from that point on, in my case WT remained neutral permanently. Online or offline, nothing would alter the WT, it remained neutral. Deleting the game data did not fix this problem, I had to reinstall the OS in order to fix this.

If you do everything Laventa says you should be money! It took me a few tries talking to him to get him to take it. You MUST exit the window and talk to him again after he begins repeating the same line!

That's odd, I've NEVER quit my character, and yet that's never happened to me.

yes ive did that....ive went down the line of each current character i have (the red hot souls is always in my inventory) he is supposed to say an entire line of text before he even says the ores are sprite line.....but he just totally skips that and in locked in on that line and wont say anything else when i use the talk button

even if i leave right in the middle of his talking he doesnt even get pissed he still just says the same line

and i do not think ive done anything to corrupt my data, i dont know of any time ive even exited the game in 2-1, of course im sure i have, but its not standing out and i never got an error message or anything

edit.....i can say for a fact that i have quit characters without quiting the game if im in a hurry and i need to go i will quit game in a map whenever, so yes ive done that mulitiple times

Yeah the PS OS was designed to finish saving after hitting "Quit Game," many many games I've played with autosave and never used a "Quit game" from inside the game and never currupted this or any other game.

Though I won't be surprised to see another patch soon.

well hijiri or obsidan or anyone who has done a good bit of trades with me

do any of you guys have someone in the 95-110 range that could hold a good bit of my hard earned items (i DONT want to farm purebladestone again)....

i will give you all the ore on all of my characters and even some of my items, i just need someone to hold them for me for a day or so while i power level a character after i delete all my Demon's Souls data....i atleast want to try this before i turn my back on the game as it is a fun game and a genre i have been missing on the PS3

im on concerned about the items i need for pvp and a few of the +5 colorless items i have...idont care about my other stuff i just want those tbh

To be honest, I don't know if hitting the PS button caused the problem only that the problem occured after that incident. This was on the Asian version pre 1.04 patch so it could be totally unrelated.

i appreciate it man but after getting no response i just said screw it and deleted all my stuff....i just started my char so we will see how it goes, i just really hope this time on NG+ and beyond i can actually use ed
