Naked Boss Fighting

So I did my first "almost" naked boss fight.

Was fighting Old Hero in 4-2, I had 2 phantoms with me when I zoned in...turns out the game glitched and decided it needed to kill one of them by making them fall through the ground.

So after that I took all my armor off save my brushwood leggings...I like the pants/metal boots heh. My 2nd blue ally was shooting a bow at him and I ended up running to the other side of his battle arena shooting him with a bow too.

I'm not quite sure why but at some point my ally started meleeing Old Hero...Old Hero won their melee.

So I'm alone at this point and greatful I have a thief ring. It took a while but I ran around the arena and kept shooting arrows at him till "The Demon Has Been Slain" showed up. I had 2 arrows left after it was all done.

This is on NG+ at about SL131, thinking about it Old Hero kicked my arse harder in NG. But I didn't use "semi-naked+thiefs ring+running around alot" originally.


Anyone else got weird boss fights or just awesome boss fights to talk about?

During my first playthrough, I fought Dragon God and Old Hero almost naked to be less noticeable. I pelted Old Hero with arrows, as well.

I haven't used blue phantoms, so far, but I usually try to read about the boss and his (or her) weakness. [Thanks to the research, the only bosses that killed me in my first playthrough were Phalanx (1x), King Allant (2x) and Dragon God (so many times I lost count). The mini boss blue dragon fried me a couple of times on my way to the safe spot.]

On my third (and successful) try with King Allant, I just kept rolling/running away and shooting him with arrows; based on what I've seen people do when fighting King Allant, that was a pretty weird way to do it.

Old Hero naked is the ONLY way to do it, lol. If I can run in behind him when he does his little smash, hit him a few times 2-handing a heavy hitting weapon, or Firestorm him, then run away, it's easy.

like you did, i play the entire first part of the game with only pants on, i cant stand being slow ugh, ive never been the slow powerhouse type on any game, i have to be the speedy type no matter what im playing (maxi in soul caliber FTW haha)

once i finally get enough stamina to wear the armor combo i like its all smooth sailing from there tho (although sometimes i just buy leather in 4-1)

I always wear medium grade armor...heavy being you can't roll.

I use the ring of great strength so that I can have heavy equipment and stay agile at the same time. Works nicely.

I killed Old Hero today with around 20-30 (heavy) arrows (NG+, soul level ~105, Dex ~35, sticky composite long bow +5). I think your character is a crappy archer or your bow/arrows suck.

That's kinda rude. I never said how many arrows I used, or even started with.

Sticky Compound Bow+5 and 49 Dexterity. I didn't use Hyper mode, or the "enchant bows trick" which I just learned about today.

I was talking about the character, not you. Saying your aim or timing sucks would be rude.

Unless you meant Ice being "Ground Challenged" bashing the character is bashing something someone did, which is indirectly bashing the characters maker. But anyway early on I was kinda wasting ammo trusting the lock on system to aim for me.

You can bash my character for being a crappy mage, because his magic stat is ~12 (enough to wield northern regalia).

old hero was easier for me in NG+. found out his simple pattern. i beat him without getting touched.

Well done the Penetrator naked(SOUNDS REALLY WRONG AT THIS ASPECT* so I was like OMG OMG OMG KITE AND SHOOT ARROWS .But in the end used 30-45 arrows to kill the bastard as barbarian that was used to Axe and Board.

You didn't wear protection and fought the penetrator naked? You didn't get pregnant or an STD did you?

I had to strip all my gear to beat Satsuki naked... shield and rapier, ditched all my armor in order to have enough stamina regeneration that I wouldn't have to drop my guard. He was really easy I knew that my naked temple knight had to use thrusting attacks from behind.

This thread is so wrong.

Srs though, I think that's the only fight I've taken armor off for. In general if I'm wielding two-handed I'll use the heaviest armor I can and Ring of Great Strength if I need to pick up my mobility... if I'm using a shield I'll wear light or medium armor in order to boost stamina regen.

Don't think so chief! I beat him with my Templar Knight, fully equipped and only using a standard long bow+10. I also had the Thief's Ring and the Cling Ring on. SLOWLY walk to the front of the room, and fire arrows at him. When he pounces at you run to the left and up the blocked off stairs. When he starts walking down to the other side of the room, SLOWLY move out and fire at him. Repeat until dead.

Apparently if you only fire once or twice he'll ignore you...I did notice he never attacked me till after the third arrow.

I'm shocked to hear how many people here use arrows on the Old Hero. He's insanely easy to kill with melee. The only piece of gear you need to remove is your body armor. Legs, head and arms are always fine. Walk slowly with him, staying parallel to him behind the pillars until he stops to swing. Then step out behind him, saw his ankles off with no more than 2 fast hits (one if you use a slow, heavy weapon) and run back behind the nearest pillar.

Only once in a blue moon will he ever actually attack you in retribution, and if you're not out in the open you're safe. Very easy fight when handled this way. Probably much faster than shooting him, too.

PS. Since Firestorm is horribly, horribly broken you can end this fight in 1-2 casts if you're chilling under his balls when you set it off... I one-shotted him in NG+++.

Sticky Compound Bow+5 and Dex 50...kinda shows that I use the bow alot.

Fun facts, I never cared for dex beyond "minimum bow requirements" till I got meat cleaver.

I got sick of farming for trophies, so I went and killed the penetrator again...by rolling around and using bow and arrows.
