It would be so amazing to have ATLUS be the one to bring this game overseas. It would easily be an instant-buy with me. I love all of the Way of the Samurai games- even Samurai Western.

You're not implying that people thought Samurai Western was bad are you!? My friend hates the Way of the Samurai games, but even he had to admit that Samurai Western was genius. To quote: "Every action game should have a magic dodge button!"

I don't know how many people thought the game was bad, but plenty thought it was mediocre. It's a niche game, but that doesn't make it bad at all. I loved it, myself.

ATLUS USA should localize this game since the previous three titles are localized by Agetec Inc., Bam Entertainment, and Capcom.

I meant among hardcore Acquire fans. You know, people that sit in dark rooms and create lists like "WOTS2 >>> WOTS1 >>> WOTS3 >>>>>>>>>> WOTS4". People like me, hahaha.
edit: Point being, WOTS anything >>>>>>>>>>> every other game... but of the 4, the 4th one is still the lowest.

Well understand that the Ps3 is not region locked and I will probably import it if it doesn't get licensed in a good bit after the European version comes out but just the same I would very much like it to be licensed here in North America.
Just in case there going to be a paid DLC or something. I doubt it though since Way of the Samurai 3 didn't plus it will be like 10 or so dollars less.
There is a good chance though that Rising Star is going to able to license it in North America as well since they are going to open a USA office:

I've never played a Way of the Samurai game but after looking it up they sound pretty cool. I may pick up one PS2 games; should I start with 1 or 2?

Either is fine because they are completely different experiences. You may like the second better because it's less free-form than the original, but I'd say try both if you can find them.

I just got WotS 2 and played it for a bit. I'm really liking it. I love all the choices you get the make and the combat is pretty decent. If the gameplay of 4 is similar, then I'm all for a localization.

This is one of those games where I'd like to see it, but it probably won't happen until the last possible moment and find some way to irritate me.
Example: For the longest time, I followed Way of the Samurai 3, waiting to see if there would be an English release. Years passed, and I decided that it wouldn't happen... so I imported a copy. Not even a day after I get my copy in the mail, Acquire announces they're bringing WotS3 to the US!
Needless to say, I was quite irate over spending $70 importing the game.

Please Atlus localize this game!
I've bought every single WotS game so far and I need this one as well. I'd pre-order the second it was put up for order on Amazon if it was localized. Make it happen!!!!

^You should totally pay attention to XSeed. They're kind of becoming what Atlus used to be.

What in the world is so bad about a digital release? Christ, the entitlement issues you kids have these days.

Firstly, I'm pretty sure I'm older than you are...
Secondly, I do not do digital releases. Not only are they always overpriced for being some transient piece of vapoware; I can't actually add them to my collection because there's nothing physical there to put with my games; and unlike games where I have the disc, if something happened to the PSN in the future where it was no longer operating, and my HDD/PS3 died, I'd have no way of reobtaining the game, unlike with a disc, I always have it unless it somehow gets damaged, which has yet to happen to a single game I've ever owned since the Sega Genesis days.
So yeah, it'll be a cold day in hell before I ever buy a digital release of a full disc game.

Personally, I just get really #### download speeds from PSN, and I don't have like having to keep my system on for thirty hours to get a game. It's only a problem with PSN; it's not just "I haven't changed my internet package since the 1990's."
So. Hate digi-only, will always go for a disc if humanly possible, yeah. :/
(That said, I will still download this for sure. I'll just be annoyed about it!)

i tend to buy the earlier models of consoles and not buy the newer ones so my consoles' memory is crap, also the slow internet connection thing.
also i prefer to have the game in my hands, be able to feel the disc and manual (if the company isn't too cheap to make it tiny or get rid of it altogether for a in game one.)
