Would you recommend it?
Would anyone recommend this? I've read mixed reviews.

It really wasn't my thing but a lot of people whose opinions I respect really liked it. I'd say it's safe to give it a shot, especially considering the price you can get it for these days.

I definitely would. >_>
As for mixed reviews, I think most of the mixing was due to some finding it to be too difficult, as well as some that found the old-school influences to be too copycat or not as great as their sources. Personally, I loved it, even when I was cussing it to hell.
If you've read the body of those reviews, you just need to look at the cons in the lower-scoring ones and the pros in the higher-scoring ones and ask yourself if the former would be enough to turn you off the game and if the latter is enough to get you to want to play it. Weigh those two against each other from there. But as Olethros mentioned, factoring in the sub-$20 price you can find it for might help overlook any on those cons.

I'll give it a shot. I just need something to keep me busy until 11-11-11.

It's not a Zelda game. It's a Zelda-LIKE game.

I was joking, but it IS a very good game. I had a good laugh at the Demon's Souls room.

I really enjoyed this game. I did not see it as a Zelda Clone, rather a game that appears like zelda. Its like if you saw Halo and Doom and said Halo copied doom because of the first person perspective and both heroes can use Shotguns. I felt like this game was a love letter to my child hood.

Considering that it is a $15 Atlus game, I would recommend it though I have yet to buy it myself. It reminds me of the Void Quest in Persona 4.

It kind of plays like the original Zelda than any other Zelda does to the original. I'm not particularly fond of the overworld map, but the dungeons are fairly challenging and enjoyable.

I do
This game is my breather from how awkward most modern games feel. And for its cheap price.... HELLS YES!

If you enjoy oldschool Zelda games then you'll definitely get more than your money's worth out of this game. It's not really a clone, but it is heavily inspired by those games. Good game to kick back and screw around in, though some parts can get quite challenging if you let your guard down.

The graphics, gameplay, music, etc. in 3D Dot Game Heroes are all so well done.
I love this game. Buy it.

yeah, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes old school retro games. No, it's not a Zelda clone, rather it pays homage and parodies it.

Well i think this game may be something pretty epic if you like old-school games or just want a free adventure like in legend of zelda 1.
but if you like stories like mass effect or just judge game by their graphics like a 8-year old that only play CoD that game isnt for you.
