For what it's worth, if you have a PS2(it scares me that so many people somehow got rid of a console with so many good games), the two-pack is pretty dang cheap, like $20 or so.

It pains me to say it, but I never actually owned a PS2; I had a Gamecube when I was younger, and if I wanted to play some PS2 games, I'd hop over to a friend's house. While I got to play a lot of great games there, I still missed out on a pretty big portion of what was available. If by the end of the PS3s lifespan the games aren't available on PSN, I'll pick up a used PS2 and start my collection with them.
Though I might get a bit impatient and grab one early, if I enjoy Growlanser IV enough.

I have both versions of the PS2 console, the North American original and the Japanese slim. It is my favorite console. Most of the best RPGs and visual novels are all released for the PS2. Its a pity that people are getting rid of the console..
Well, I also have a Gamecube and XBox but those consoles lack the games I play though. I got admit that the PSP does have more games than the PS2 somewhat because it is region-free. I got a PSP-2000 and a PSP-3000, its even better than the PS2.. With a 16Gb memory stick, I look forward to Growlanser II and Growlanser III on the PSN..

Why people discard theyre old system just because there is a new one is beyond me. I have my ps1 and i would have hated to trow it away (I play Growlanser in it) same to ps2 (Playing Growlanser 4 and Suikoden 5).

Then how was XSeed able to re-release it with a new translation?
Or do you mean Lunar 2?
Also, I'm glad I was able to find a copy of Growlanser 2 and 3 a couple of weeks ago.

I assume he means that the old version and the old translation are caught in licensing hell. A new port, licensed for a new translation by a different company might not have the same trouble.

I believe Atlus does care about the fans and I'm not so sure they are in it for only money but certainly that is a big reason to localize games.
I think they are probably willing to take a small loss as long as they have the support of their fans.
I've been buying Atlus games for a very long time now and some have not gone over well. Take Digital Devil Saga for example selling only 60K in North America we still got DDSII which sold only 40K. Now I'm sure they must have taken a loss on those which is why I think Atlus is most willing to support their fans, of which I am one.
