background comic stills have a very low quality-pixelated look

So, what's causing this?

I'm playing Trauma Team using a retail copy of the game I purchased on an HDTV TV with component cables and using the wii's widescreen setting.

Anyway, for some reason, the background comic stills (the images not part of the main cutscene window) look very pixelated and low quality.

What could possibly be causing this? I'd wonder if it was my HD tv, but the main cutscenes as well as the gameplay segments look fine, it's just the background comic stills that look pixelated.

This game stays at 480p regardless of whether you're playing on HDTV or even an old CRT TV. They had to sacrifice the comic strips quality in order to put more emphasis on the surgery gamplay to begin with, and there's nothing you can do to improve that.
