Invading is all I do now when i play DS. Unfortunately I don't play DS nearly as much as i used to. Summer has been pretty nice of late so I have been charging up and down the hills on my mountain bike. Anyway I will try and join your group. On facebook it will be Paul Ell.

I am waiting very patiently for Dark Souls...I have the day off Oct. 04/11 and will be playing my preordered collectors edition of Dark Souls...I hope!!

Most black phantom started because we are bored of waiting for a fight, so we when looking for a fight.. and because we fight so often, we became much better then most host .. thus BP often slaughter the host, and blues together easily..

While most experience players understand that black phantom are merely players looking for pvp fun, and thats the only way we can get it in demon soul..fast.

Most newbies/non-pvp players/pvper yet to be don't understand, and also whine a lot. but you can't blame them, especially when most invasion from seasoned black phantom leave deep scar..

I dont understand this team of invaders thing? How does this work. I exclusively drop red signs 99% of the time I'm online. But I'm just curious what the point of invaders joining a group. is there a way to invade with a friend that I'm unaware of or something. If you want Add slegan to your list and we can duel if you want.

My problem with Black Phantoms is the people who just sit around all day spamming invasions in the same world. It's really irritating to have the same Black Phantom constantly invade a specific world every time I enter it, especially if I'm trying to play co-op.

I really think there needs to be a limitation on how often a person can invade worlds as BP, or at least a limitation on how many times they can invade a specific user's world.

For example, if a Black Phantom (player B) invades the world of another player in body-form (player A), and player B kills player A, then player B should NOT be allowed to invade player A's world until one of the following conditions are met:
a.) Player A defeats any boss in any world (either in single player or as a Blue Phantom),
b.) Player A defeats any other invading Black Phantom player,
c.) Some pre-determined time interval passes (maybe 12 hours).

I haven't even beaten the game's single player mode yet due to the loss of all my progress when I had to replace my PS3 after it stopped working (http://www.megabearsfan.net/post/201...tory-rant.aspx). So it would be really nice to actually be able to make single-player progress every once in a while without constantly being invaded by BPs.

I was having trouble clearing World 4-2, so I invited my cousin to help me and used Ephemeral Eyes to res my character. But we kept getting invaded repeatedly by the same BP player who kept killing both of us. This lowered my world tendency to pure black, and now I can't even get through any World 4 levels because I have to deal with BP Setsuki in 4-1 AND a whole battalion of BP Gold and Katana Skeletons in 4-2. I'm essentially stuck and incapable of making progress in the game thanks to being farmed by an aggro BP player.

I went invading today first with my level 54 spell sword at level 1-4 and 1-3; I invaded about 10 different games and had a blast slicing a dn dicing blus and hosts.

Then I loaded up my level 15 thief and owned the explorers in 2-1 for another couple hours invading about another 20 different games.

My level 134 didn't get a sniff so I went back to my level 54 and sliced and diced for another couple of hours.

Seems to be a fair bit of action at lower levels and not too many black phantoms taking up the cause.

This game just keeps me coming back I love the thrill of the chase and then the adrenaline of the kill...or being killed. What a rush!!

Interesting ! I started last week and i have not been invaded yet. I also don't know how to invade, but i'm kinda learning the game before i jump into some pro player territory.

I'll tell you why I hate Black Phantoms...

For the last few days a friend and I have been playing (and enjoying) demon's souls in a co-op fashion, or as co-op as this game allows. We cleared 3 whole zones together in just a 2 day period and in all that time we hadn't seen a single black phantom while co-op. I'd already been attacked solo and the BP baited me into hitting a friendly NPC and of course that had left me already a little touchy on BPs.

But for the last two days my friend and I have been trying to kill the blue dragon in 1-4 (our last area in play through 1) but the key word is trying because as soon as he comes alive, bam we get invaded and I'm not talking just once or twice but six times in the same night (and three or four times the night before), and sure we can fight off 1 or two BPs but when they all have armor breaking spears and endless supplies of healing herbs, it's a battle that can't really be won. We were invaded by the same BPs four or five different times in the same session, and I wouldn't mind if it were just some standard level, but they blocked off the main bosses from BPs for a reason...why didn't they block off the dragon zones. I get the dragon down by half four of the six times and before we can get to the stairs to take on the second part of it we've had to fight off at least three BPs back to back just to make it that far. And never made it up the stairs because it's hard to time the dragon breaths between the constant invasions.

They really should have limited the number of times you can invade another person's game or you know what allow some people that don't want to get invaded a way to not be invaded but still allow co-op. We had a lot of fun for the rest of the game but the fact that we had 4 different BPs that constantly kept reinvading the levels back to back was utterly ridiculous. It's really a shame because I liked the game a lot but it's a major disappointment when you're trying to finish a game but the game won't allow you to... It'd be like if you're going to join a swimming contest with your friend but as soon as you both jump in the water a group of sharks jumps in and you're fighting both the water and the sharks.

And the real kicker is that it was so frustrating that we just gave up. It wasn't worth the hassle of constant BP invasions to try to play the game, and I've played a dozen or so games with worse game play elements but none I'd ever actually given up on. Giving players the ability (nay the resources and opportunity) to openly be assholes to other players simply trying to enjoy the game is a bad game design. When the number of people that are trying to simply enjoy the game gets way outnumbered by the people that invade other people's games to get enjoyment out of ruining other people's enjoyment it becomes chaos. We were probably one of the few people trying to play co-op and so every BP that was trying to invade in that section all ended up after us.

So I'm personally glad the servers are going down at the end of next month so no one else will have to go through the bull#### I've had to go through the last two nights. I wish co-op could stay but if it means that people can't just jump into other people's worlds just to ruin their entertainment than I guess it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

P.S.: Why do all BPs go to 1-4?

You don't HAVE to kill the blue dragon before fighting the boss.

You also could kill the blue dragon solo while in soul form, then summon your buddies to finish off the boss.

I don't know about you guys but sometimes it's so thrilling to do nasty stuff in video games. Isn't' that what video games are for? Giving you experiences that you cannot have in real life?

I feel like black phantoms are an extension of this idea. You can go around and be a jerk to people and be rewarded for it. Once I invaded someone who had just gotten past one of the harsh areas in 4-2 and he was afk (probably ran to the bathroom after struggling hard). Just in time to see some random dude put an end to all his hard work with just a flick of his finger.

The thrill of fighting a real person with real goals, thoughts, doubts and worries. It excites me like nothing a single player game can emulate.

I have no problems with invasions in principle, but my first invasion was...not pleasant. He caught me in 4-2 sniping at a manta ray with a bow and repeatedly back-stabbed me while I was trying to switch to normal view and switch weapons, so I died a very cheap death. Not classy.

EDIT: For clarification this invasion was my first and only invasion thus far and occurred yesterday.

I'm with FrozenKing on this one. I've played over a dozen PvP encounters now and lost every single one save a Forest Covenant battle where someone joined at the end of the duel and stole my kill (of course I got indicted and later murdered). The last game ended with someone tossing dung pies onto my corpse. Besides my crappyness at this game, I believe the matchmaker system is quite poor since it always matches me against players with greater skill and equipment. For example, several duels involved players using the Darkwraith vortex shield thing which, I thought, you acquire after defeating the Four Kings (I read a wiki). I'm still clearing Ando Lando and not even close to that point, yet the matchmaker believes this is an ideal contest? Not to mention the # of 2-3 hit deaths I’ve suffered while barely denting my opponent’s health.

I die enough already that I'm tired of losing to griefers and watching my humanity get flushed down the proverbial toilet. It makes me feel bad, so I’ll be playing the rest of the game offline rather than being forced to farm rats if I want to have any hope of seeing the rest of the game as a human. So much for the marketing tagline, “Believe us: once you try the online in Demon's Souls, you'll wish more games were set up the same way.”
