Any connections to the first game?

I'm near the end of my first playthrough, and haven't come across any mention of the events that occurred in the first game or any of the characters from the first game. Do any of the paths make any reference to the first game? Also, Polaris is the "God" of the world and no mention is made of the Christian God from the original game or any of the angels, though you can still summon Remiel and Lucifer .

Devil Survivor 2 focuses on politics and astrology, nothing to do with religion unless you count the demons.

I see. And there's no mention of the Tokyo Lockdown either? I guess it's not a continuation of the first game then.

Nope. In fact the SDF soldiers only make a few quick appearances in this game. The overall atmosphere feels more subdued and safe. It's very Evangelion-esque.

Polaris rules over various parallel dimensions. It is possible that the first Devil Survivor exists in one of those parallel dimensions.

Technically, there is a connection. It isn't much of one, but if you slay certain demons over the course of the story, and go for a certain ending, Black Frost will show up, speaking about the power of love.

As far as I was aware, there was no connection. Then again, if Polaris owns all dimensions and stuff, couldnt it be possible this is just an alternate dimension? Maybe the demons can travel through dimensions as well, hence the Black Frost talking about the power of love.

There was a funny scene in the beginning of 2 with an SDF soldier saying something like "were just trying to help the best we can!" I forget exactly the context, but anyone who played the first one would have chuckled. Otherwise I've noticed no connections I think they are alternate universes. It would be awesome if Devil Survivor 3D connected the 2 games! Actually Devil Survivor 3 would just be awesome period.

There is one cameo reference of Black Frost as a joke but other than that it treats Devil Survivor 1 as a game mentioned in the very beginning. They're not connected at all. Polaris is NOT the Christian God mentioned in Devil Survivor 1.

I support the theory that DeSu's story happened in one of Polaris' parallel dimensions. Or maybe DeSu2 is actually a prequel with the "reset button" ending being canon.
