Well, don't expect Growlanser II and III on PSN anytime soon...

This sucks, but here's hoping Atlus/Index lighten up a little.
(Mods, move this to off topic if you want, but I think it's relevant to our interests, especially for the many people who never got to play II or III, arguably some of the best games in the series.
And if by any chance Atlus USA can help Vic out on this, that would be very sporting of you.

They will consolidate their spot as the one of the few publishers that really care for their fans and not get blinded for the all powerful $.
I can wait for a psn release because i still play with my more advanced game system: my PS2

Sales? Building hype for Growlanser IV?
A better question would be what ISN'T in it for them?

You aren't giving them sacrificial demons, offerings of your best booze, nor are you giving them the keys to the city. I think the real question here is what CAN you give them?

Money is the only reason anything EVER gets localized. People who think a company is going to willingly lose money just to appease fans are living in a fantasy land.
Also, as long as Vic is involved this will never, ever happen. I mean the guys schedule is FAR too busy to be able to add this to the agenda!

I know that money is the reason for the localization of a game but you wont see too much developers take a risk with a niche game instead of the main franchise (If you want Breath of Fire from Capcom you are screwed but if you want resident evil thats given). After the low sells of growlanser 5 in a system that was almost in every home and now they are taking a risk with a not too well known game in a system that is nowhere near as the rival i had say that ATLUS think on their fans at least to an extend more wide than others.

Another possibility is that Atlus (JP) may not want the old Growlanser 2 / 3 on the PSN because they are considering doing an enhanced remake of those games on the Vita / PS3 like they did with 1 & 4 on the PSP. Then Atlus USA could localize them. This is probably just wishful thinking on my part, but a guy can dream.

Well, meta tags are pretty pointless when search engines normally disregard them anyway, so I guess making them funny at least gives them some kind of purpose.

No one's sadder about Gaijinworks not doing, uh, anything than me, but Victor's working with Monkey Paw a lot, so there's that.

It's pretty understandable that they haven't done much. Translating / publishing games takes lots of money (if it didn't Atlus would probably localize more of the games in the suggestion thread) and since WD went bankrupt I doubt he has much in the way of funds. They are supposedly kicking around the idea of launching a kickstarter project soon for a niche JRPG. If this actually comes to fruition, here's hoping it's something half as good as Growlanser... or Lunar, even.
Regardless of what people may think of Ireland's business sense or ego, he brought over some cool obscure JRPGs to the US that no one else would have taken a risk on and I give him props for that. After all, we probably would not be talking about an English Wayfarer of Time right now if Growlanser Generations had never been released.

Im grateful with Vic for bringing Growlanser 2&3 (I didnt like some things like changing Oscar Reveevs to Kenshin) and if he brought some good psp games i would be more grateful. I remember that he wanted to bring Langrisser here so i hope he gets enough support for that.

IIRC, the reason why they change the name from Oscar to Kenshin for a fans of Growlanser who died before the release and the forum name of the fans are Kenshin

Thats was something noble. But still he messed up with the game story it would be something different if he named an enemy. Another thing i didnt like is that he removed the chance to rename Carmaine and Slayn i know is something minor but still i didnt like it.

Honestly I would prefer they get Lunar 2 on PSN so I can play it on the PSP but I would buy Growlanser 2 and 3 off the store even though I have them on PS2 already.

It's a bit off-topic, but Victor has said licensing hell is Lunar's biggest obstacle.

Being a EU resident and all, I'd love to buy these off PSN (not a fan of emulation). A shame.

I would pay a full $60 to be able to play Lunar 2 on my PSP. I kid you not. I love that game. >.>

Gaijin works has apparently contacted Sega about localizing Valkyria Chronicles 3 and actually got a response, so all power to them.

Well considering the state Sega's in, I bet someone could ask for Hatsune Miku at this point and get a response.

I would love to see VC3 here, but I have super mixed feelings over Ireland being attached to it. Gross.

Mad speculation because of Sega of America sinking faster than you can say Jet Set Radioooo, but it's looking a LOT more likely, yes.

Seriously, wait for the smoke to clear.

I really hope that these make it onto PSN somehow; I'm pretty excited for Growlanser IV, but I've never played a game in the series before. I'd love to try out the first two localized games sometime; hopefully Atlus USA can somehow give Vic a hand in that.
