Limited Edition Suggestions
Despite the existence of The King of All Cosmos's greatest practical joke, I like to think that the Atlus staff does pay attention to us forum goers every once in a while, and sometimes, what we say or do here might be on the tip of their tongues while meet-ifying or something.
Since Persona 4 Arena is still months away, I figure this would be a good time to fire up a thread and let them know what you guys would want to see out of this game's limited edition. And who knows, they just might care enough to... care. <3
Now, you can just start listing crap if you want to, but if you want to make this more organized, you need to provide them with options that are worth considering. There's a reason why none of them take Game Suggestions seriously: You guys make unrealistic requests. So, be more reasonable this time around!
To help whittle things down, there's roughly four categories that Atlus partakes in when it comes to bonus goodies:
Atlus Spoils:
This is the pre-order stuff, mostly. Artbooks, soundtracks, pins or buttons. Whatever. Small stuff, that's just enough to be neat.
The Limited Edition:
This is generally the above, but with a lil more bang. The soundtracks feature more than just a few select songs, the artbooks are thicker, and it usually has some sort of special packaging, like Demon's Souls. That said, it still isn't quite that extravagant. These are usually within the $70 range.
The Deluxe Edition:
This is usually the crazier stuff, like Catherine. Anything and everything that makes sense within the context of the game can come with these. These are within the $80 range.
The Every-Copy-Is-Special Edition:
This is the one that Atlus actually likes to play around with the most. Every first-print copy of their game is special in some way. It might be something very simple, like a bonus soundtrack disc, ala Persona 4. Might be a full soundtrack. Or it might be something crazy like the first-print-run of Devil Summoner 2. These are always priced within their standard range - so in P4A's case, $60.
Now, don't just pick one of these. Say what you'd like to see for all four, so that way, the options are more varied with the likelihood one of them making it to the top, so to speak.
Anyway, I don't really have any suggestions myself, but I wanna know what you guys want. And I'm pretty damn sure if you guys keep it sensible, the guys inside the cubicles might take note...
Beware the box cutter!

Always what I love to do.. imagine possibilities for this type of stuff.
I would love to see a really fun Collector's edition where the dvd slipcase has one of those old school holographic diffusors built into it and inside the case is a sleeve to put in your choice of a mess of character images that when shown from the front, looks like a 3D image on the television. Special kudos if the dvd case is actually molded plastic to help give off the dimensions and shape of the old school tv!!
Obviously it wouldn't rotate images like this but.. woudl mean you could set the front image to your favorite character, the hologram is a really fun effect, and the general costs to create/print the images included wouldn't be THAT disgusting.. i don't think.
I'd def buy it for +$10 or so.

This could be the first Atlus title where we see exclusive DLC (character skins, etc.) as a preorder/collector bonus >.< It is a fighting game on current gen systems after all. Excluding that fact however, I'd love to have a physical copy of the soundtrack if they do a collectors edition.
I doubt they'd do anything as crazy as Catherine's deluxe edition, but if they did it would be awesome There are some pretty wild things they could throw in as long as its cost effective and profitable, most of them could obviously double as items in a Persona 4 the Golden deluxe edition though. Here's a few dreamed up ideas:
A character's glasses (maybe the MCs, but his are pretty plain XD), Yosuke's headphones (probably not a viable option though), Naoto's hat (They already did Junpei's hat)... But most of all the coolest things they could add would be either Kanji's black sleeveless shirt or (this is pretty out there.. XD) Akihiko's cape!!! ^^

A fighting stick would definitely make an awesome Limited Edition, but I don't know, it sounds unreasonable as JC mentioned.
For the pre-order bonus, a quality artbook, like they are doing for Game of Thrones, is a nice option. The games will carry the same price tag, so it seems it can be done. Throw in a neat packaging, be it sleeve or box, and I will be more than glad to shell out 60 bucks on release date.
Now for a limited edition, I suppose it's not unreasonable to ask for an exclusive figure? Perhaps Teddie, using his new outfit
Anyway, given Atlus past choices, I'm sure they won't disappoint us, though it would be nice if something that we mention here makes its way into release.

For a pre-order bonus probably an artbook and/or soundtrack would be good. So long as there's no in game pre-order stuff, though I don't think ArcSys has done that yet.
For a limited edition Naoto's hat, a P4 shirt, or a figure like a nendoroid or something. Actually I'd really like Yukiko's fan. Well if not I'll just get that club nintendo Blooper fan.
A deluxe edition could have a fight pad or stick, though really unlikely.

Perhaps not a figure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did a plushie of Teddie in his new outfit.

Oh yes! Of all the bonuses we could get from the Persona games, a Persona themed tarot card deck would be the one would want the most!

I'd love figurines or posters. Maybe a poster using the hand-drawn art! That would be wonderful.
If, theoretically, it were a Teddie plush, I really hope it'll be bigger than the one from the Social Link Expansion Pack. I find it hard to cuddle with since it's a bit small.

For a Pre-Order Bonus, definitely a soundtrack for the game. That would be killer for me. Or even do a soundtrack / art book combination similar to Demon's Souls. A high quality art book similar to the one for Game of Thrones would be amazing.
For a Limited Edition, why not include a book with the movelists for every character and also special packaging for the game as well. Steelbook case maybe (I'm a sucker for those kind of things )? The case that they had for Demon's Souls Limited Edition was great.
This is just what I'm thinking.

I must say, I'd rather the persona themed tarot deck than Akihiko's cape (which probably wasn't feasible anyways XD), and that's saying something =P I think that tarot deck is an awesome idea ^^

I like alot of the ideas that people are posting, so I thought I would post an idea for fun. I would say steelcase with limited edition artwork on the inside, comes in a collector's box (if it looked like Jack Frost's head and opens up by removing his hat, that would be awsome), some DLC like extra characters and levels, an artbook, and to top it off a soundtrack and a T-shirt would be great. I would pay 80$ or more for something like that.

How did I forget this? I was looking for them a while back. A Persona themed Tarot card deck would be great.

It'd be cool if it had all the frame data too. And maybe some combos or something. Like a mini guide. I'm all for steelbook cases as well.

An artbook and soundtrack would be nice. If they're being done by Soejima and Meugro respectively, then I would be all over that (huge fan of theirs)
Although, with things like that, if they don't get released in Japan, they sure aren't getting released here; nobody's going to work on something like that exclusively for the American audience.

If I remember correctly, the Japanese limited edition of Persona 3 FES came with a tarot card deck!

Indeed, the edition offered by Playstation.com had a Tarot Card set. It came in a beautiful blue box.
I got the Konamistyle edition a couple weeks ago, it's amazing in content, but lacks a nice packaging.

Hmm, the OST with a standard pre-order is definitely a must and maybe an artbook.
As for special pre-order ideas: how about a special version of the box cover (those have always been kinda nifty for me), nice character move sheets, liking that Tarot card idea that people have mentioned, or T-shirt with T. Bearson on it (cause why not?).
I'm trying to think of things they can get out by this summer. Figures take forever to design and make, so that's not really looking like a possibility (same with plushies).

I think if a Naoto hat was included that would for sure push me to get a deluxe edition. I think if it included Chie's pins that would be pretty sweet honestly. Of course a soundtrack would be awesome of course.

That would be great. I'd go out and pre-order a copy right now if that were the case.
