Erin Fitzgerald to voice Chie
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...1401057&type=1
According to her Facebook page, Erin Fitzgerald will be voicing Chie in this game, not Tracey Rooney.
Fitzgerald, according to Wikipedia, voiced Midori in Devil Survivor Overclocked and Alkaid and Sakubo in .hack//G.U. She was also Trisha and Erica in Catherine.
I wonder if this means she'll also voice Chie in The Golden, whenever it comes over here.

Not a fan of recastings. Was really hoping they would be able to get all the original VAs back. I'm sure Atlus had good reasons behind the scenes for this, and I'm sure the new VA will be fine (she was great in Catherine) but I can't help but be disappointed.

Nooo, i dont want that she voice Chie in Golden, "Dont Think, Feel" from the original sounded awesome and it would be a shame if that line where voiced by another person.

Alkaid, hmm..
Sounds fine to me even though I prefer the original cast.

Pretty much what I'm thinking. If she could bring some softness to Alkaid, I bet she'll do a great Chie. She's already stated she doesn't know how the original sounded, and that ATLUS had her do her own take on the character.
I do wonder what this would mean for any potential The Golden localizations, though.

Figures since from what I recall, Chie's English voice actress from the original Persona 4 is more of a television actress, not a voice actress.

Well I am not too worried. It stinks it won't be the same actress, but they'e using someone they've had on the team before, and likely someone they trust. It will be a different spin, but really so long as it has the spirit and whoopassery of Chie I think it'd work.
though you all know the whole reason this happened is because of THIS THREAD and all those haters. Damn you people!!!

I hope they don't have any problems getting the rest of the cast back. I'm not particularly worried about them getting people like Troy Baker or Laura Bailey, they seem pretty consistent, but I understand Yukiko's actress isn't in much anymore, and I don't know much about Naoto's VA.

Man, I feel bad for the new VA, gonna be lots of haters out there if Chie is the only one recasted; even if the voice is good.
Might as well recast the whole crew XD that way people won't hate on one voice over the other =P
I'm actually not as disappointed about this as I thought I'd be, I'll reserve my opinion until I actually hear the dub.

Yukiko's actress was in Devil Survivor Overclocked, so I don't see much of a problem there. Naoto's actress was in the rather recent Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

I don't really have a problem with Chie's new voice, the problem is all those people that are picky about something. Because there's always a moron that because a voice changes, he or she won't get the game for that only purpose (I probably spelled that wrong... I need to improve on that). I don't really care who voices her, I just want her to do a good job with the voice she will make, I trust that she will make a good voice over. Obviously, Atlus will make her hear the original english voice of Chie so she can make a similar voice.

Chie is mai waifu ( ), but I won't be freaking out either unless her voice sucks in the game, which is highly unlikely. For all I know she might do even better than her original voice actress. I just hope Atlus USA keeps Chie's stutters and her signature "sheesh". But I won't be complaining if they decide not to either.

Maybe she went in to the casting call, and Atlus USA liked her the best. And how would they know if there was going to be a sequel in the form of a fighting game four years down the line?
And as much as I love a bunch of the voice actors I hear in Atlus USA's games, it's good to have someone different once in a while. Especially someone who did such an awesome job voicing Chie.

I don't really worry about the voice acting in fighting games much as long as the voice isn't too obnoxious or out of place I doubt I'll mind the change.
Pretty much just glad we're getting the game even if I'm not all that great at fighting games. x3

I won't lie and say I'm not at least a little worried about it since P4's English VAs were excellent, but the sky isn't falling or anything. If it doesn't turn out good (and I'm sure it'll be fine) at least Atlus usually tries to get dual audio into it's games. Could always swap to the Japanese voices if it doesn't work out.

Yeah, like I said, I'm sure Atlus had good reasons for it, and I'm still excited for the game, after all. I just wish they had been able to pull off getting everyone back. I've literally spent hundreds of hours listening to this characters, I've gotten pretty darn attached to them as they were. It'll be hard to adjust.
I still have my fingers crossed that they got the rest of the original cast back though.

Well, that kinda sucks.
Chie was one of my favorites of the original voice cast, 'cuz she sounded so real to me (or, rather, she sounded just like someone I knew with the same temperament).
Ah well. I'm not gonna say "but no other changes, pleez" cuz it kinda doesn't matter anymore. C'est la vie, still hoping the game itself is good.

Given that her original VA was pretty terrible and a large number of people have that same opinion, I don't think there'll be too many "haters", unless they're the ones that complain just to complain.

I loved Chie's original voice... I'm kinda surprised since they got the cast back for the anime... thought it would be simple for the game. But I'm sure I won't really notice when the time comes.

The cast isn't back for the Anime. The announcement from Sentai was before they even called any of the original cast, so it wasn't true at all.

That depends on whether they want to go through the effort of having to re-record all of Chie's dialogue. It would cost more too I imagine.

If its the actress that did Erica in Catherine, she kind of in the same ballpark in terms of voice. Still, it's going to be weird if she's in The Golden. For Arena it's not so much a big deal as I doubt there's a lot of story here - at least not to the unnecessary level if Dissidia - but I guess I could be proven wrong on that. I just go into fighters with stories with very, very low expectations. While I know the P4 team wrote it it and Atlus USA is bound to do a fine job, ASW is still involved on systems and gameplay and I've seen thier "story" modes.
Still getting it, but I'm just cynical about fighters and story.

I've taken a cursory glance at BlazBlue and it seems to have actual cutscenes before and after every fight. Much more story than Guilty Gear, for instance.

True. for example, if it's two unrelated characters, they'll have a reason to fight, while in Guilty Geasr, Faust is like ''I'll have to heal you'' and then'' ''Sol Badguy vs. Faust'' and I'm like ''WTF''... even though, I'm still playing Guilty Gear in the PSP .... though, hard to get the different endings.

It seems like it's about half-and-half; it's not as united as the dislike for, say, Fuuka's actress in Persona 3.

Not at all. I like all of the original cast. Admittedly "Aha! Is this our chance?" was a bit of a clunky line read, but the rest was great.
