Punisher: War Zone. Can't decide if it was horribly awesome, or awesomely bad.

I started watching the last season of Monk, and I'm going to get around to eventually watching the first three ALIEN movies.

PRIDE
The first J-DORAMA I've ever watched, only because it has to do with hockey.
Possibly the last one too, unless it ever gets a sequel.

I'm assuming I'm the only person her who watches K-drama?
On to topic though, I'm currently watching Sweet 18 as of now. Besides gaming and the occasional going out for summer, I'm watching K-dramas, HA.

Most of the J-drama I've seen has been tied to anime/manga, such as Great Teacher Onizuika, Salaryman Kintaro, To Heart, and so forth...
I'm still watching M*A*S*H, I finished up season 9.

Now that you mention it, Attack No. 1 and Aim for the Ace were both adopted from a manga and anime.
Woah, I never knew that there was a Great Teacher Onizuka drama. I thought the movie was awesome and hilarious, never read the manga nor saw the anime. Is the drama any good?
almost done with Sweet 18, but gonna give it a rest and go play games.

I finished M*A*S*H, I've been alternating between the complete Mel Brooks collection in chronological order (I watched Life Stinks yesterday), the Dick Van Dyke Show (I'm starting the last disc of season 2 right now,) The Monkees Season 1, and an episode of Family Dog here and there.

2001: A Space Odyssey. A must see if you're big into Stanley Kubrick's stuff or for the movie buffs. The ending was so bizarre. o_o

Penn and Teller did an awesome episode of Bull####! last night on self-esteem. Highly recommend both the show overall and particularly that episode for anyone who has showtime.

I watched Men in Black the other day, I'm getting ready to watch the deleted/extended scenes now and *MAYBE* some of the bonus features...
...Or not. I've watched them all before, I'll probably just do the music video.
Hmm, I thought The Chubbchubbs short was on the original MiB, maybe it's on MiBII. The MiBII disc doesn't list it, but it says "special animated short film." I was thinking that was a MiB short with the worm dudes, but maybe not.

Finally got around to watching the Matrix triology. Bit confusing in places, but overall very good. Even though the action scenes look a bit dodgy now, I'm sure at the time of the release they were awesome.

I've been marathoning the DC Animated Universe shows all summer. I'm watching them in chronological order (production-wise) and am finishing up Superman: TAS and in the process of watching Batman Beyond, Static Shock, and eventually Justice League. Cartoons were great in the 90s.

Currently waiting for the How I Met Your Mother series to start the next season... At the moment I just finished watching Inception for the THIRD TIME! What a great movie! I am a HUGE psychological thriller fan and I find INCEPTION to be one of the best of its kind. Some of my favorite movies of the genre include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Machinist, The Jacket, Mulholland Drive and Shutter Island...

I just found out they finally released the ORIGINAL Super Friends episodes, from 1973!
I've got most of the other DC sets, and one of these days I'm going to marathon the Super Friends stuff, followed by the newer stuff like Batman:TAS, etc.

Last week's episode of True Blood was very boring, good to see that they went all out with this week's. It had everything, from more Lafayette and Jessica, to less Tara, if anyone else watches this.

I watch True Blood, but the first season was on DVD, and the second was online. I haven't seen any of the third yet.
The other day, I watched a Stephen Chow film "The King of Comedy." It was pretty good, it wasn't quite as gag-filled as Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle, but still pretty fun! There are some oh so awkward moments (to our Western sensibilities) involving a little naked kid, but at the same time FUNNY!
I started the Police Academy series, I've always loved these films...

Scott Pilgrim vs. the world.
Can't remember the last time I enjoyed a movie that much. No idea how faithful to the source material it is, but it was an excellent movie that did a lot of service to gamers and comedy fans alike.

I just got back from the midnight showing of Scott Pilgrim. But first, some cred. I started reading the books around two years ago, right before the fifth volume came out. I can't count how many times I've reread them. What follows contain minor spoilers that only really make sense if you've read the books in the first place.
So the flaws. It's not so much that it deviated the comic, it's that the movie mutated the comic. There would be scenes that would be the same except one of the characters is different. For example, most of the elements of Romona vs. Envy are now in Romona vs. Roxy. Or scenes that are the same except they're not quite in the same chronological order, like Romona vs. Knives. And of course, there were things left out for time, including Honest Ed's, which was one of the most delightfully surreal parts of the comic. And there were other things that were just overly simplified, like Kyle and Ken Katayanagi.
And now the good parts. EVERYTHING. Oh. Em. Gee. Best comic adaptation I've ever seen. Just amazingly awesome. They just nailed most of the characters. Michael Cera makes a much better Scott Pilgrim than I thought he would. Wallace Wells and Kim Pine and Knives Chau and Ramona Flowers and Gideon Graves and Todd Ingram were absolutely perfect. Steven Stills, not so much. Too goofy. But still awesome. The soundtrack was kickass, and the visuals were clever as hell.
It boils down to, are you alive? Then go see the movie.

I watched Scott Pilgrim vs The Animation on AdultSwim.com and I have to say it made me cry. I cried...because it looked exactly how I imagined it would if they made the entire comic series into an animation. PLEASE let that happen eventually...cause despite it being only 4 minutes, it was beautiful. T_T

Watched John Cassavetes' Faces last night. It was confusing at first since it appears the director likes the Cinéma vérité style. Which in the beginning offered zero context to the characters or their relationships to one another.
Before that I watched Shadows. Which was his first film.
I was going to watch Breathless tonight but they just took it off Netflix Instant....
