An Army of Shadows is attacking... Who could be the one behind it all?
Two months after the events of Persona 4, a sense of terror runs through Inaba once more. A new program, a fighting tournament called the P-1 Grand Prix, begins to air on the Midnight Channel, and members of the Investigation Team start to disappear one by one. The protagonist and what's left of the team delve back into the TV world to solve the case. There, they find themselves participants in the P-1 Grand Prix, forced to fight their own friends...! Fortunately, the Shadow Operatives, consisting of Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Aigis, are also on the case and join the battle. As they fight, they learn more about the circumstances of this strange tournament... Who is behind it all, and to what end? The ordeal of the Investigation team and the Shadow Operatives continues...
The Shadow Operatives convened to try to figure out who was behind the recent events. There were no clues in the memory bank of the rescued Labrys, and the investigation seemed to be at a halt. New clues, though, seem to lead to a man who left some painful scars with them... The conclusion left them surprised, but at the same time there was a Shadow presence detected in Inaba, and they quickly headed over there. A little later, while Junpei, Yukari and other former SEES members are living their everyday lives, they receive news that Mitsuru's team has disappeared...! They assemble in Inaba as the "Shadow Operative Auxiliary Staff" to save their friends in need! Is that certain someone really back!?
A few days after the last deadly battle, General Teddie appears on the Midnight Channel again. As he announces the “P1-Climax,” Inaba becomes covered in an eerie red fog. An ominous stage appears, where Mitsuru, Akihiko, Fuuka, and Aigis are shown crucified. The Investigation Team heads to rescue them, but a swarm of Shadows gets in their way. Not only that, but Tohru Adachi, who was closely involved in last year's case, is on the scene as well. What's his motive, and does he have anything to do with this catastrophe? Can the Investigation Team save their friends and find the truth behind these mysterious events!?
Ever since the incident in Inaba, Adachi has been spending time in jail. But one day, he finds himself in the TV world once again. There, he encounters a red-haired boy... The story of Episode Adachi is told from Adachi's point of view. It portrays the other side of the P-1 Climax that the protagonists never see, brings the player closer to the truth. How will this all end...?
