Making his debut in 1993, Shinichi Osawa is a musician, producer, DJ, and music curator. He ranked No. 1 three years in a row (2009-2011) in the club website iLOUD’s DJ popularity polls within Japan. His solo album, “The One” (2007), was released by Southern Fried in the UK and Dim Mak in the US. The track “SINGAPORE SWING” in his album “SO2” (2010) is known as a club hit worldwide, and in 2011, he released a collaborative album with Paul Chambers, featuring that track’s name as the album’s title. Recently, he has released underground techno tracks from various labels around the world, and he has received many impassioned messages and requests from DJs and creators worldwide inviting him to do collaborations and remixes. At the same time, he has also been active as a composer, producer, and remixer. In the 90s, he worked with countless stars including UA, Chara, and bird, and in recent years, he composed and provided tracks to artists like Namie Amuro, Wakadanna (Shonan no Kaze), AFTERSCHOOL, and Tomohisa Yamashita, helping them break new musical grounds. In addition to working on commercial music for brands such as the Toyota Auris and Mercedes, he has helped select music tracks for many fashion brands and stores, as well as producing a music bar in Yoyogi Village. His skills and endeavors mark him an active contributor across the industry, with music at his principle core.
